NAB will distribute a new series of public service announcements (PSAs) via satellite feed on Friday, October 16 to help stations keep their communities informed about the H1N1 flu virus. Celebrities including Marc Anthony, Amy Ryan and Jackie Joyner are featured in the campaign, which includes 13 PSAs, some of which are available in both English and Spanish.
The campaign was developed in partnership with the Ad Council, the White House, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Sesame Workshop. The PSAs focus on preventing the spread of the H1N1 flu virus by encouraging high-risk populations to get the H1N1 flu vaccine and to follow other simple steps to staying healthy. The spots also encourage viewers to use the government’s one-stop flu Web site, www.Flu.gov, to get the facts about H1N1 and the seasonal flu and flu vaccine.
The television PSAs will be included in NAB's monthly satellite feed on October 16 at 11:30 a.m. (ET). Stations can also preview and download the new spots on NAB's comprehensive public service Web site, www.NABSpotCenter.org.
Additional radio and television PSAs will be posted on www.NABSpotCenter.org as they become available.
