NAB Education Foundation Launches Leadership Development and Mentoring Program

The NAB Education Foundation recently launched their third annual Connections Mentoring Initiative, a premier leadership development and mentoring fellowship program. As previously announced, the program pairs broadcasting executives with women and people of color seeking career advancement opportunities in broadcasting.

"The Connections Mentoring Initiative has been extremely successful in helping prepare talented broadcasters for the next phase of their careers," said NABEF President Marcellus Alexander. "Our expanded program will help an even larger group of people learn to navigate today's changing media space, while enhancing their skills to become tomorrow's leaders."

Produced through support from the McCormick Foundation and NAB, this year's program includes an expanded group of 22 participants and mentors, as well as new digital platforms that encourage a more interactive learning style. In addition to the six Web seminars included in the program, members will also receive Web cameras to facilitate regular communication via Web conferencing. Other digital components of the program include a networking Web site, a new initiative that enables participants to blog about their experiences throughout the year-long course.
