FCC Sends Latest Round of EEO Audit Letters to Radio Stations

Last week, the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) sent Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters to randomly-selected radio stations as part of its annual effort to audit at least five percent of all full-power broadcasters. The letters, a sample of which can be seen here, require audited stations to provide extensive documentation to prove EEO compliance. Even stations that are not being audited would be wise to read through the letters to ensure their current documentation would pass an EEO audit. Further, the FCC reminds stations that operate a Web site that the EEO Public File Report must also be posted and made available via the Web site.

The FCC’s EEO Audit Public Notice can be read here.
