NAB Will Air Important DTV Webcast on May 14, Highlight Updates to DTV.gov Web Site

NAB will present a live DTV webcast on May 14 at 2:30 p.m. EDT to review new Web features, DTV education requirements and other important details that stations need to know prior to the transition to all-digital broadcasting on June 12.

Hosted by NAB Vice President of Digital Television Transition Jonathan Collegio, the program will discuss with officials from the FCC the features available to stations and viewers through the updated DTV.gov site. NAB Deputy General Counsel Ann Bobeck will also participate in a discussion regarding DTV education requirements through the final days of the transition.

The webcast will also review new additions to the NAB Web site, DTV Action spots, the upcoming May 21 DTV soft-test and how stations can best handle transition questions from viewers.

As always, stations can ask questions throughout the program directly to the hosts. To watch webcast, go to http://www.tvworldwide.com/events/nab/090514/. (Note: The webcast will also be archived for future viewing at www.dtvanswers.com/webcasts.)

The webcast will discuss in particular how the FCC is providing a data entry portal for broadcasters to enter information into the DTV Web site for dissemination to the public. Broadcasters can use the DTV Web site to provide the public with information about the operation of the DTV walk-in help centers located in their market. In addition, broadcasters may also enter information about other DTV transition support activities located in their market into the FCC’s DTV Web site.

Broadcasters can access https://dtvsupport.fcc.gov/broadcaster-s for the data entry portal. After accessing the DTV portal site, login using the broadcaster username: (FRN) and password. Note: the broadcaster username (FRN) and password are created and maintained by the broadcaster in the FCC’s CORES System.
