Performance Tax Webcast for NAB Members

On Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 4 p.m. Eastern, NAB will host a live webcast for radio broadcasters regarding the performance tax. As you know, the foreign-owned record labels are pressing Congress to levy a fee - what broadcasters consider a tax - on local radio stations simply for playing their music. Join the webcast to learn more about what you can do to help NAB fight this money grab from the recording industry.

The discussion will include:

  • Performance tax background and overview
  • Status on Capitol Hill
  • NAB messaging
  • What you can do to fight a performance tax

Kelly Cole, senior vice president, NAB Government Relations, and John David, executive vice president, Radio, will lead the discussion on the performance tax, and you will have the opportunity to email in questions throughout the session.

Login information for the webcast was sent to member stations late last week. If you did not receive an email or would like to view the webcast, please contact NAB's Josh Miely at (202) 775-3510 or Caroline Sweeney at (202) 429-7150.
