Free Radio Alliance Urges Congress Not to Let Grinches Steal Free Radio

NAB and many individual broadcasters are members of the Free Radio Alliance – a coalition of people and organizations whose mission is to keep radio strong for communities across the nation by opposing a performance tax.

In December, the Free Radio Alliance delivered a postcard to Capitol Hill urging members of Congress not to let the grinches – the big, foreign-owned record companies - steal free radio from America. These record companies want to impose a performance tax on local radio, putting an end the mutually beneficial "free play for free promotion" system that has existed between radio and recording artists for decades.

For more information or to inquire about membership in the Alliance, please contact Cathy Rought at 800-954-0200 or info@freeradioalliance.org.
