WTOL Goes on 15-Stop Election Tour
Raycom’s WTOL embarked on a 15-stop tour of the Ohio station’s market area during election season to bring election coverage to the people. Traveling in a 40-foot bus, WTOL's chief anchor Jerry Anderson gave Ohioans the opportunity to speak about the issues of this election. "We're finding out what's really on the minds of real Northwest Ohio people," said WTOL VP/General Manager Bob Chirdon. "Everyone talks about them as the crucial voters - we find out what they're actually thinking."

WYFF 4 Hosted Televised Live Congressional 4th District Debate
WYFF 4 in Greenville, S.C., hosted a live televised debate between Republican Congressman Bob Inglis and Democrat Paul Corden on October 15. Sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Greenville County, the debate is part of WYFF's ongoing Commitment 2008 effort to devote extensive air time to candidates and issues prior to Election Day. "Our commitment 2008 pledge is to give our viewers as much information as possible before they go to the polls. There is perhaps no better way for voters to know where the candidates stand on the issues than a live televised debate," said WYFF 4 News Director Justin Antoniotti.
WLEN Radio Hosts On-Air Debate
WLEN Radio in Adrian, Mich., provided air time to support debate featuring Congressman Tim Walberg, 7th Congressional District Challenger Mark Shauer, 7th Congressional District State Representative Dudley Spade and Challenger Emma Jenkins. Held on October 7, the debate was organized by the Lenawee County American Association of University Women. The debate was promoted in advance through community announcements as well as a live feed of the event for the two hour forum. WLEN also provided a news person to sit on the panel.
