To help spread the word about the digital television (DTV) transition to consumers across the state, the Maryland State Lottery has begun printing DTV information on its lottery tickets.
Baltimore's WBAL-TV, an NAB member television station, approached the Maryland State Lottery Agency to partner on an initiative to educate over-the-air viewers who play state lotteries about the upcoming DTV transition.
State lotteries rely on many of NAB's member stations to broadcast lottery results, promotions and advertisements. In turn, state lotteries have terminals, kiosks and other vehicles that can help promote DTV information to television viewers. NAB encourages state broadcast associations and member TV stations to reach out to their state lottery directors on a similar initiative.
