The 10th annual National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation's Celebration of Service to America Awards will be held Monday, June 9, 2008, in Washington, D.C.

Attendees include broadcasting executives, event sponsors, philanthropists, members of the press and government officials. The 2007 event attracted more than 650 attendees including three commissioners from the Federal Communications Commission and 30 members of Congress.

In addition to recognizing the outstanding community service provided by local radio and television broadcasters across the nation, the Service to America Leadership Award will be presented to entertainment industry icon Quincy Jones for his humanitarian work in establishing the Listen Up Foundation and the We Are the Future project, both dedicated to helping underprivileged youth.

Randy Owen, lead singer of Alabama, will accept the Service to America Samaritan Award on behalf of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids, one of the most successful radio fundraising events in America. Since its inception in 1989, Country Cares has worked with nearly 200 radio stations to raise $315 million for the kids of St. Jude.
