Have You Heard About Radio Heard Here?

Last week at the 2008 NAB Show's Radio Luncheon NAB launched the next phase of the Radio 2020 initiative - a campaign called Radio Heard Here - among all of radio's constituents. Radio Heard Here is a comprehensive, multiplatform, viral campaign that includes a wide spectrum of promotional and educational initiatives designed to engage virtually the entire ecosystem that radio touches. With this campaign, we will remind radio insiders, the media industry and consumers of radio's value.

A new Web site, www.radioheardhere.com was recently launched, and two blogs are up and running, one at www.radioheardhere.com and one at www.radiocreativeland.com. We encourage you to explore these sites and all of the tools and information they have to offer.

In the coming weeks, more resources will be introduced, including brand guidelines on how to use the new logo, raw creative to incorporate into your promotional activities and an insider's guide - essentially a fact book containing what we need to tell people about radio.

So far the response has been great. The launch was covered by numerous media outlets from the New York Times to Advertising Age. In fact, PR Week recently posted an article about this effort, and Fred Jacobs also included a recent posting about the launch on this blog.

NAB, the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the HD Digital Radio Alliance are working together to mobilize radio ambassadors to communicate radio's relevance and vitality to the public at large.

It is the hope of NAB, RAB andd the HD Digital Radio Alliance that armed with the facts and the good news about radio, you will join in this unprecedented campaign to reinvigorate this great business and secure the successful future we can achieve together.

If you have questions or suggestions about the Radio Heard Here campaign, please do not hesitate to contact NAB's Executive Vice President of Radio John David at jdavid@nab.org or NAB's Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications Michelle Lehman at mlehman@nab.org.
