New DTV Spots Address Low-Power Issue

To help consumers understand that some channels they watch may not go digital after the transition, NAB will distribute new television spots specifically produced to address this issue.

The spots also instruct low-power viewers to obtain converter boxes with an analog pass-through feature. The spots are available in 30- and 60-second versions in both English and Spanish. ON April 29, They will be distributed via satellite to stations in markets with a high number of low-power translators.

A downloadable format and timing sheet for the LPTV spots will be at www.dtvanswers.com/actionspots.

Additionally, NAB has created a special Web site, www.LPTVAnswers.com, which explains the transition's impact on low-power stations and outlines steps consumers can take to continue receiving those signals.
