NAB Show – Television Highlights

On Monday, April 14, start the day having breakfast with the Open Mobile Video Coalition (OMVC) during the session "Mobile TV: Opportunity at 100 MPH!" The OMVC invites executives from television, telcos, cable and OEMs to learn more about breakthroughs and milestones in engineering, consumer interest and testing, as well as new revenue opportunities in the fast approaching locally broadcast mobile TV world. Then come on down and see Bob Barker, retired host of the renowned CBS game show "The Price is Right," as he gets inducted into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame during the Television Luncheon. Did you ever wish you could play in the "Showcase Showdown?" Luncheon attendees will have a chance to play classic The Price is Right games and walk away with prizes from LG Electronics and Microsoft. The luncheon will be followed by an RTNDA/NAB Presidential Forum featuring discussions with party leaders and television politicos which may help confirm or cause you to revisit your station's election coverage and outreach efforts. From appointing a national chief of technology officer to revamping traditional White House communications strategies, the ideas and positions of early spring's front runners could change many of the established procedures of the day-to-day business of broadcasting. Monday wraps up with a high-level panel discussion of partnership opportunities for cable operators and broadcasters. Cable and broadcast industry leaders will participate in an in-depth discussion on ways that these two segments of the media industry can work together during the DTV Transition to strengthen their respective bottom lines. You'll learn about the initiatives of the cable industry and individual operators and how these can benefit broadcasters. The session will be moderated by David Rehr, president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Tuesday, April 15 will feature a General Manager Internet/New Media Forum from 1:30 – 5 p.m. focusing on best practices for management, money makers and marketing to make the most of your station's new media strategy. The afternoon will start with remarks from YouTube’s Mark Shedroff. Additional panelists and presenters include:
