Last week, NAB filed comments with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on a proposal that would allow AM stations to operate FM translators. NAB stated that the proposed rule changes would help AM stations deliver clear and consistent service within their coverage areas throughout the day and during the vital morning and evening rush hours. AM listeners' access to local programming would improve, as would the ability of AM radio stations to compete in the ever-changing media marketplace. The overwhelming majority of comments filed in the FCC's record agreed.
