Get involved with the National Association of Broadcasters Service to America Week! Next month, the NAB Education Foundation is hosting the Celebration of Service to America Awards gala in Washington, D.C., honoring the exceptional service of radio and television stations across the country. To amplify this message, NAB wants broadcasters across the country to share their stories to remind policymakers and your audiences of the unique role stations play in our local communities.

Sample postNAB is asking stations from across the nation to use #BroadcastGood on June 12 to showcase their favorite public service project on any social platform: Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.

  • Post a picture, video or plain text about your station’s charitable efforts or stories your station has covered about causes in your community, etc. during the year.
  • Use the hashtag #BroadcastGood on every post.
  • This could be anything from food drives, community service projects, fundraisers or telethons.
  • Tag the nonprofit you worked with, charity or community partner like the mock examples in this email.
  • Get everyone from your station involved!

sample postNAB hopes to amplify the great work your station does every day by creating a real moment across all social media platforms, which means getting every member of the station to participate. From the station handle itself to anchors, the production crew and interns – we want everyone involved.

If there’s one thing you do to get involved in Service to America Week, have this be it.
