NAB Tells FCC to Protect C-Band Operations

Earlier this month, NAB filed comments with the Federal Communications Commission, urging caution with respect to a new “Citizens Broadband Service” that the FCC proposes to authorize in the C-band, specifically, in the 3550-3700 MHz band. This new service would be designed to rely on small cell and spectrum technologies. NAB explained that television networks and stations, as well as cable networks and others, intensively use adjacent spectrum in the C-band (3700-4200 MHz) for the satellite distribution of programming. NAB stated that the proposed service will increase the risks of interference to conventional C-band services, and should only be implemented if adequate protections are adopted.
