NAB Statement on Passage of S.J. 28
NAB Executive Vice President of Media Relations Dennis Wharton issued the following statement today in response to last night's Senate passage of Senate Joint Resolution 28, which rescinded the Federal Communications Commission's modest change to a rule created in 1975 known as the newspaper/broadcast cross-ownership rule.
NAB Applauds Mobile DTV Announcements
NAB announced today its strong support for a report submitted by the Open Mobile Video Coalition (OMVC) to the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) on its evaluation of proposed mobile DTV systems. The OMVC report recommended the MPH transmission system developed by LG Electronics and Harris Corporation be used as the basis for an ATSC Standard for mobile DTV broadcasting.
NABEF Launches Online Broadcast Career Center
The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) today launched an upgraded online career center for broadcast employers as well as job seekers interested in opportunities within the broadcast business. The service, dubbed 'Broadcast Career Link,' allows interested applicants to search broadcast-related job listings and post their resume free of charge.
