Christoph Fehn

Christoph Fehn received his diploma degree (MS) in electrical engineering from the University of Dortmund, Germany, in 1998. He started his professional career as an engineer at the Fraunhofer HHI in Berlin in the field of image processing. From 1998 to 2000 he worked in the MPEG-4 related European ACTS projects MoMuSys and CustomTV. In 2000 he started working on a two year DFG project, where he was engaged in research on 3D analysis, novel view systhesis and the navigation of virtualized 3D worlds for Immersive TV applications. Since 2002 he is a scientific project manager and coordinator for projects in the area of three-dimensional television (3DTV) and Digital Cinema. In 2006 he received his PH.D. degree from the Technical University Berlin, Germany, in 2006, for his work on a novel approach for 3DTV.

Christoph is a member of VDE, SMPTE and IEEE and has been an active contributor to the ISO MPEG group, where he is currently working as an associate editor of the new MPEG-C (Auxiliary Video Data Representations) standard, which is concerned with the definition of encoding and transport mechanisms for depth/parallax or other auxiliary video data representations.
