Steven Rosenblum began his career in a two-man industrial film company in Westport, Connecticut. Thinking he was a cameraman he enrolled in the American Film Institute in 1976 only to find out he was not. There he met Edward Zwick and Marshal Herskovitz and a lifelong association was born. Rosenblum went on to edit thirtysomething for which he received an Emmy, as well as earn Academy Award nominations for his work on Blood Diamond, Braveheart, and Glory. He will discuss the bi-continental editing workflow on Blood Diamond, his thirty year collaboration with director Zwick and show key clips from Blood Diamond to illustrate the storytelling challenges of combining a political agenda with traditional Hollywood entertainment values.
