James ThomasInteractive Consultant, McVay New Media
Londoner James Thomas got his start editing commercials and music videos for artists including Sting, U2, and Prince in the late 80’s. He moved over to series television, honing his pacing on Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, Red Dwarf, The Day Today and other British comedies before landing The 11 O’Clock Show, which kicked off a nine year collaboration with writer/producer/actor Sacha Baron Cohen. Thomas edited Da Ali G show for British television and both American series for HBO, and the feature film Borat, Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. He is about to start work on Flight of The Concords for HBO. At NAB Post-Production World, he will share experiences from inside the Borat cutting room handling the challenge of a genre where there are no second takes.
