Edward Hobson

Edward Hobson has over 30 years of experience in engineering and operations of broadcast and related media facilities. Mr. Hobson is responsible for technology and business issues related to file based and High Definition production systems, workflow, business process management, new media systems and their applications. He provides strategic technical consultation regarding technology, operations, and management issues for sophisticated clients in the television and media industries. His experience includes senior product development, sales, and marketing positions for major television and broadcast equipment manufacturers including Grass Valley, Sony, and Omneon where he was a co-founder. He is a Fellow and immediate Past President of the SMPTE and a Fellow of the BKSTS. He is a member the IBC Conference Committee, and has twice been a Theme Day Producer at IBC. Mr. Hobson holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
