Since joining the NAB in 2006, Scott has quickly established himself as an authority on the disruptive effects of new technologies in the broadcast industry. Working from the NAB Legal Department, he provides research and analysis on a wide range of new media and broadcast issues, including net neutrality, copyright, and media ownership. Raised in the blue-collar, auto industry-dominated Detroit suburb of Westland, Michigan, Scott first gained his foothold into the media culture as a local reporter covering politics and sports. He also has extensive experience in the computer industry, working in sales, marketing and management positions. Scott is a member of the California State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the Federal Communications Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and University of Colorado Law School, where he led his team to two college-wide flag football championships.
