Mr. Dages is Executive Vice President Emerging Technology for Warner Bros. Technical Operations Inc. He is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of emerging technologies for Warner Bros. He works extensively with Warner Bros. creative teams in developing original content for interactive gaming and new distribution platforms such as cellular phones, PC’s and other personal digital devices.
Prior to this position, he held the post of Senior Vice President Technology. His responsibilities included the planning, design, selection and installation of technical production systems spanning TV, film, gaming and basic infrastructure. He was a member of the team that created The WB Television Network. His work included developing a digital, nationwide, file server system which was awarded an Emmy® for its pioneering technology in delivering network TV using IP techniques.
Mr. Dages managed the design of Warner Bros. first all-digital television production studios; created the largest DVD compression and mastering facility; and built the broadcast and post production facility for its cable channel in Latin America.
Prior to joining Warner Bros., Mr. Dages was Vice President of Engineering for CBS. Among Mr. Dages’ project achievements include the technical facilities’ in the Ed Sullivan Theater for Late Night with David Letterman; the Winter Olympics broadcasts from Albertville, France and Lillehammer, Norway; rebuilding the Broadcast Origination Center; and production and post facilities for CBS News. He also held the additional positions of Vice President East Coast Operations and Vice President Development at CBS, Inc.
Mr. Dages serves on the National Television Academy Awards Committee and is the Vice-Chair of its Technical Committee. He is a member of the International Broadcast Conference Advisory Board (IBC). He is a Board of Directors member for the USC Entertainment Technology Center. Memberships include the Museum of Broadcasting, the American Film Institute and Game Developer Association.
Mr. Dages was appointed to serve on the U.S. Department of Commerce blue ribbon panel on assessing and recommending policy on the digital workforce. He was also the NAB Engineering Conference Chairperson.
Mr. Dages holds a BSE from Stevens Institute of Technology and a MSE from Pennsylvania State University, where he was the 2005 Outstanding Engineering Alumni. He is a Society of Motion Picture Television Engineers Fellow (SMPTE). Mr. Dages holds two US Patents and is a recipient of three Emmy ® Awards for Outstanding Technical Team Achievement.
