Animator and Digital Filmmaker, Angie Taylor Animation
Angie Taylor is an animator and (digital) filmmaker based in the UK. She works on a freelance basis for production companies and broadcasters including the BBC and Channel 4 television, producing animation, motion graphics and visual effects for TV, film and video.
Angie has recently finished creating visual Effects on a Short film in production by John Williams, co-director of the music video "Trouble," by Coldplay, and recipient of two awards for excellence in advertising at Cannes.
She has also designed animations with UK-based design house, D-Fuse for a ground breaking DVD album for the US musician, Beck. She will be showing techniques used in both of these projects at this years NAB conference.
Angie has also worked with with UK director Chris Cunningham on two short films for his DVD album for Warp Records. These are collaborations with Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, including the track;
Rubber Johnny - A short film whose trailer is found on Chris’ Directors Label DVD. This is due for release in May 2005.
Rubber Johnny, according to Variety, will be released as a DVD single by Warp Films. It has been sold to the Sundance Channel in the U.S. Chris also wishes to expand it into its own 10-part TV series.
Angie is also working on a DVD project for punk band, The Slits. Featuring new, live concert footage from their recent tour, plus a new animated promo for one of their songs and archive footage from the early days of punk.
Angie has recently finished working on ’The Prey’, a feature length digital film within the science-fiction/fantasy genre.
’The Prey’ is a feature length digital film within the science fiction/fantasy genre. It weaves a series of ’Twilight Zone’ tales around a group of characters trapped in a grim ’Aliens’ type underground bunker complex where a cosmic magician probes their weaknesses and strengths through a series of moral tests and adventures. The film is due for completion in the Spring of 2005. Plans for Cannesand other international festivals are under consideration in addition to screenings to various television stations and a US distributor.
Angie also has a book published, called "Creative After Effects" which teaches people how to use Adobe’s After Effects software in creative ways. She regularly tours with Adobe and Apple, giving software demonstrations and seminars on digital filmmaking and animation processes. She has also provided training for various leading companies including; BBC; Channel 4; Carlton; HTV; B Sky B; Huge Designs.
