Veronica Johnson

Veronica Johnson is a meteorologist and science and feature reporter for WJLA-TV/ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8. She is the lead meteorologist for “Good Morning Washington” on WJLA-TV/ABC 7 Monday-Friday.

Prior to joining WJLA-TV in 2016, Veronica was a meteorologist for WRC-TV/NBC 4 in Washington, D.C., for 17 years. She won a local Emmy Award for the special “Tracking Winter.” She also served as the midday WTOP radio weather voice and evening drive for WHUR.

Prior to moving to Washington, Veronica worked at both WMAR-TV and WBFF-TV in Baltimore, at WABC-TV in New York and at The Weather Channel.

Veronica is an American Meteorological Society (AMS) seal holder and one of the few AMS broadcast fellow meteorologist members.

She holds a degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
