2017 NAB Show Shanghai to Co-locate with Shanghai International Film and TV Festival

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The 2017 NAB Show Shanghai will co-locate with the annual Shanghai International Film and TV Festival (SIFF) June 13-15, 2017 at the Shanghai National International Expo Center in the Pudong District of Shanghai, China. Produced by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the International High Tech Cultural Device Cluster (TCDIC), NAB Show Shanghai is the premier event in the Asia-Pacific region for global media professionals involved in the creation, management and distribution of content across broadcast and digital mediums.

The co-location will occur during the three-day television portion of the festival. The 20th annual film festival, one of the largest in Asia, begins June 17 and runs through the 26. Speakers and sessions will focus on topics such as IP-based entertainment systems, application of 5G technology, motion picture technologies, NextGen TV and issues specific to the Chinese media market. Also, visual effects artists will provide insight on how popular films like “Hacksaw Ridge” and “Iron Man 2” were produced.

Two hundred exhibiting companies, including Canon, Christie, Extron, NewTek, Panasonic and Sony, will demonstrate their latest products, technologies and industry solutions on a 10,000-square meter exhibit floor. Nearly 70 speakers from more than 20 countries will share their insights and practical business solutions for the broadcast and entertainment technology spaces.

“Both events are uniquely equipped to address separate facets of an increasingly convergent industry,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown. “The co-location of NAB Show Shanghai and SIFF will bring together even more media and entertainment professionals in one of the fastest growing media markets for industry collaboration and networking.”

The NAB Show Shanghai conference program, referred to as Global Innovation Exchange (GIX), consists of three core conferences and four featured conferences. The program serves as an international platform for executives from the broadcast, film, new media, VR/AR and cable/telecommunication/OTT industries to share unique industry perspectives and brainstorm new ideas for innovation.
