Kirt is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and 22 year broadcast veteran.
Kirt began his broadcast career in 1991 as an Account Executive with Great Empire Broadcast’s KTTS AM-FM, in Springfield, Mo., where he learned the essentials of successful account management. Kirt quickly scaled the ranks and was promoted to Local Sales Manager of Great Empire Broadcast start-up Classic Rocker, KZBE/B-95 in 1993. With the addition of start-up KHTO/Hot 106.7 in 1994, Kirt took on the responsibilities of General Sales Manager. He is credited with creating a high revenue producing sales department built on local direct selling. Switching to television in 1997 at GoCom’s Springfield, Mo. ABC affiliate, KSPR-TV, he quickly became a believer in the power of television.
In 2003, Kirt accepted the position as Senior Sports Marketing Manager for The Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network, where he remained through 2008.
Kirt joined Scripps’ NBC affiliate, KSHB-TV, in early 2009 as a Senior Account Manager where he is a record setting new business and non- traditional revenue specialist. His success has been built on his passion for helping small businesses grow their bottom line through successful strategies on broadcast TV.
Kirt’s awards and accomplishments include 1998 GoCom Account Executive of the Year and 2005-2006 Susquehanna Account Manager of the Year. Kirt is also an accomplished creative producer with numerous Addy Awards for TV and radio production.
