Small Market Money Makers Competition Guidelines

How Do I Submit An Idea?
Each Small Market Television Exchange attendee is asked to submit a written description of a promotional idea online. A confirmation page will pop up once you have successfully submitted your form. If you do not see the confirmation screen, your promotion is missing required information.

How Many Ideas Can I Submit?
Stations may contribute as many ideas as they wish.

What Types of Ideas Should I Submit?
Submissions may be NTR, multi-platform, web/social/mobile or turnkey, as long as they reflect advertising. Do not submit a promotion previously entered by your station even if it has been several years since it was shared. If you submit an idea gleaned from another station at a previous Small Market Television Exchange, be sure to explain your station's new twists and turns in the spaces indicated when completing the online form. Syndicated promotions are accepted but be prepared to explain how it is localized and reflects a new, different or original element. Do not submit sales management ideas, only promotional money-makers.

Who Chooses the Winners?
NAB Small Market Planning Committee members will review the entries and select the best 25 ideas, known as the "toppers." Up to 25 Toppers will be chosen and only these 25 will be asked to produce video presentations. If a station declines the opportunity to make a presentation, the promotion will not be eligible for the Best-of-the-Best contest and the planning committee will select another entry from the pool. Toppers who present a video during the exchange will receive a $50 rebate on-site and a framed certificate. Attendees will pick the Best-of-the Best money-maker from the Toppers.

When is the Entry Deadline?

Check out the payoffs of an early submission. The early bird gets the worm!

All first place winners, Toppers, will be notified by August 20. At that time, the station will receive instructions on preparing its video presentation.

Video Presentation: September 3
The finished video must be sent to NAB headquarters by September 3.
