Dave Sirak has over 25 years of experience working in television news. Sirak is a Montana native and a proud graduate of the University Montana School of Journalism. His career path working behind the scenes of television news has taken to multiple stops between Seattle to Orlando where he currently works as the Director of News Technology for WFTV (ABC) Television. In addition to working as a photographer and editor he has directed the technical resources for the coverage of major disasters, news and sporting events including Space Shuttle launches, hurricanes and Super Bowls. Sirak served as the media committee chairman for journalists planning and covering the Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman trials. He served on a committee within the Cox Media Group which secured FAA approval for the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) for news coverage across the groups 12 television stations in the United States. He has been awarded 6 regional Emmy awards for news coverage and technical achievements. Sirak is an SCUBA diver and has contributed to several projects that sank large ships as artificial reefs. He is the co-founder of Formula H2O, an underwater racing league which also provides therapy through recreation to disabled veterans and their families.
