About the Event

Dear Broadcaster:

David K. Rehr

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2008 NAB State Leadership Conference (SLC) being held from Monday, February 25 to Wednesday, February 27 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. As you know, the conference is an annual event where broadcasters hear from prominent federal policymakers and meet with legislators to discuss issues that affect your business. The conference provides a unique platform to impact decisions made daily in the halls of Congress that can shape the future of the broadcast business for 2008 and beyond.

Each year, the conference includes a well-rounded program to provide a thorough update on the current political climate in Washington and legislative issues before Congress. In recent years, members of key congressional committees, Federal Communications Commissioners and renowned political correspondents have spoken at the event. This year, attendees can expect to hear from a range of outstanding speakers including influential industry leaders and policy makers.

With legislative briefings from the NAB Government Relations team, congressional staff panels and presentations from political speakers and members of Congress, the 2008 State Leadership Conference will provide a forum to engage in open discussions with both fellow broadcasters and federal policymakers. Many questions remain at the forefront of the legislative agenda of the 110th Congress. Your involvement and collective advocacy play a major role as we work to advance our issues on Capitol Hill.

To be most effective, we encourage you to bring as many broadcasters representing as many congressional districts as possible to participate in your annual delegation Hill visits. As partners in the broadcast business, we need each other’s support and knowledge. A strong showing of local broadcasters from across the country sends a powerful message to Capitol Hill. If you would like to schedule a meeting with a Member of Congress, please contact your state broadcast association. As always, we ask that you keep your schedule clear of other activities while in Washington, so that you can attend all of our sessions. We look forward to seeing you in February!

If you have any questions, please contact Robin Oxford in NAB’s Government Relations Department at 800-424-8806 or roxford@nab.org.

Best wishes.

Sincerely,

David K. Rehr
