There are many free resources available to educate listeners and viewers on the dangers of opioid abuse. Education is the first step in empowering families to prevent abuse.
- Take advantage of resources. Host a film screening of the Partnership’s "Out of Reach" documentary and panel discussion in your community. Share the accompanying toolkit with your audiences.
- Share the facts on Naloxone. Listeners and viewers can become trained on how to administer Naloxone, a drug that can reverse an overdose. If used in time, it can save a loved one’s life.
- Educate your community. Resources are available at drugfree.org/heroin.
- Help end the stigma. Research shows that the language used to describe addiction can either perpetuate or overcome the stereotypes and lack of empathy that keep people from getting the treatment they need. Learn more.
