Standards Setting
Advanced Television Systems Committee
The Advanced Television Systems Committee, Inc., is an international, non-profit organization developing voluntary standards for digital television. The ATSC member organizations represent the broadcast, broadcast equipment, motion picture, consumer electronics, computer, cable, satellite, and semiconductor industries. ATSC creates and fosters implementation of voluntary Standards and Recommended Practices to advance terrestrial digital television broadcasting, and to facilitate interoperability with other media.

AFD Ready Initiative
AFD Ready is an initiative created by television broadcasters to ensure uniform and optimum program delivery of television broadcasts after the analog shutdown on February 17, 2009. Through this initiative, participants will work to increase awareness of AFD and promote its use throughout the television industry.

National Radio Systems Committee
The National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC) is jointly sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Its purpose is to study and make recommendations for technical standards that relate to radio broadcasting and the reception of radio broadcast signals.


NAB Engineering Achievement Awards

The awards, first established in 1959, are given to individuals for their significant contributions which have advanced the state of the art of broadcast engineering.

NAB is currently accepting nominations for the 2010 Engineering Achievement Awards. The deadline for Engineering Achievement Award nomination is January 18, 2010.
