Instructions
The following
are suggested forms of verification. We may request additional
verification.
Print
News Media - A copy of the masthead from a current issue of your
publication
showing your name, or a business card with a copy of a recent article
from the publication with your by-line.
Electronic
News Media - A letter from the news director/ assignment editor on
station/network letterhead saying that you have been assigned to
represent
the organization in an editorial capacity at NAB events.
Web Publications - The
publication's URL and verification of employment, which can include
a copy of a recent article with a business card. The demographics
and/or
an audited statement must also be provided. The Web publication must
be
a previously established, independent site that is regularly updated
with
original and current broadcast-related news. Personal blogs will not
be considered for media registration.
Analyst/Researcher - A copy
of the cover of a recent report which shows your name, title
and company name. Reports must be made independently and not solicited
by exhibiting companies.
Freelancers
& Video Production Companies
Freelancers and video production companies must be on assignment for a
legitimate news organization and submit letters of assignment from
that
news organization on company letterhead. Accreditation for freelancers
and video production companies will expire at the conclusion of each
show.
Ineligible
Press
IDs from membership organizations that charge a fee for the ID are
not sufficient for verification.
Accreditation
will not be granted to:
Account
representatives, sales executives, engineers, marketing managers,
general
managers, public relations reps, etc.
Anyone
whose principal purpose for attending NAB events is, in our judgment,
for reasons other than covering them as working news media.
Individuals
working on projects for media that are specifically show-related and
only
released in conjunction with NAB events.
Media accreditation
is reserved for working members of the media only. This includes
editors,
reporters, producers, camera crews and still photographers.
We reserve the right to modify this policy without public notice and
to
revoke previously issued NAB accreditation/registration at any
time.
A history
of being registered at previous NAB shows does not guarantee approval
or waive the accreditation requirement. Misconduct or
misrepresentation
of position and/or publication/news organization will bar you and your
organization from all future NAB events.
NOTE: The
foregoing are guidelines for NAB's use only.
Completion
of the NAB Conventions News Media Accreditation Form implies consent
to
NAB's collection and storage of the data on the form in the United
States.
