NAB
STATEMENT ON FCC APPROVAL
OF XM-SIRIUS MONOPOLY
WASHINGTON,
DC -- Upon learning of the Federal Communications Commission's approval
of the proposed monopoly-merger of XM and Sirius Satellite Radio by a
3-2 vote, NAB Executive Vice President Dennis Wharton issued the following
statement:
"Today's
vote certainly comes as a disappointment to NAB. We continue to believe
that consumers are best served by competition rather than monopolies."
