NAB Applauds FCC Action Allowing FM Translator Use For AM Radio Stations
The Federal Communications Commission adopted an order yesterday by a 3-0 vote allowing AM radio stations to use FM translators, granting AM stations the ability to enhance their reach within a local community. Commenting on the FCC action, NAB Executive Vice President Dennis Wharton issued the following statement.

NAB Statement on Senate Confirmations of Genachowski, McDowell and Strickling
Late yesterday the U.S. Senate confirmed President Obama's nomination of Julius Genachowski as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. The Senate also confirmed the President's renomination of Robert McDowell as FCC Commissioner and nomination of Larry Strickling as head of the Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
