PSA SCRIPTS The public service campaigns listed below contain public service announcement (PSA) scripts. These PSA scripts can be read live by your station’s on-air personalities. AMBER Alert AMBER (America’s Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response) Alerts are emergency messages that broadcast when a law enforcement agency determines that a child has been abducted and is in imminent danger. Category: Safety CARE CARE helps millions of people around the world effect real, positive change in their lives by fighting root causes of poverty in the world’s poorest communities. CARE places special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Category: Humanitarian Disaster Preparedness and Relief Prepare your community for any type of disaster with important disaster relief and preparedness information, public service announcements and live read copy that can be utilized before, during and after disasters. Category: Community, Disaster, Emergency Preparedness Homeland Security - Are You Ready? Ready is a national public service campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to all types of emergencies. Category: Emergency Preparedness Homeland Security - Ready Business Ready Business, an extension of the successful Ready campaign, is designed to educate owners and managers of small to medium-sized businesses about preparing their employees, operations and assets in the event of an emergency. Category: Emergency Preparedness Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Educate your community on the importance of early childhood education and encourage them to become involved with Jumpstart’s Read for the Record on October 2 by donating a book to a child in need, creating an online book drive or reading at an event in your community. Category: Children, Community, School, Volunteer Martin Luther King Day Honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., the King Day of Service on January 19, 2009 transforms the Martin Luther King, Jr. day holiday into a national day of community service. Radio PSAs feature recordings of Dr. King’s voice and narration by Isaac Newton Farris, Jr., CEO and President of the King Center in Atlanta. Help promote the King Day of Service and recruit local volunteers to serve on King Day and beyond. Category: Volunteer Peace Corps Peace Corps Volunteers impact communities across the globe in areas such as community development, education, information technology, public health, and youth outreach. Support the Peace Corps mission of world peace through service to others by carrying these PSAs on your station. Category: Humanitarian, Volunteer TEAM Coalition Promote responsible drinking and positive fan behavior at sporting and entertainment facilities with public awareness materials for the sports-minded. Sports fans are an ideal audience for educational messages about fan behavior and traffic safety, especially the use of designated drivers. Category: Drunk Driving, Safety We Don’t Serve Teens Help reduce illegal underage drinking and its harmful side effects with resources from the We Don’t Serve Teens program. The campaign works to limit teens’ access to alcohol in an effort to prevent risky behavior and injury commonly associated with illegal underage alcohol consumption.
